overview
Several years ago the CITES Team of H.M. Customs and Excise and software developers Concept Imaging Limited began development of 'The Green Parrot Project'...
Over the years, the Project has evolved into a fully-fledged Endangered Wildlife database and identification system.

Designed for use by non-specialist personnel without prior CITES or scientific knowledge the Project software has been developed to aid CITES and endangered wildlife enforcement Officers in two ways:
:: To enable positive identification of CITES- and E.U.- listed fauna and flora
:: To act as an interactive, educational training aid
Throughout the development process, many wildlife organisations and specialists have been consulted to ensure that the software is accurate, efficient and above-all simple to use.
Many of these parties have also supported the project by supplying some of the five-thousand-plus high-quality photographic prints and slides of the specimens that are currently included in the Project databases.
